Johannes Rau. Distinguished guests visiting our little street. Yesterday, April 26, 2002, I found the little street in Copenhagen - Store Kannikestraede - in which my family and I live filled with limousines and police motor cars. Johannes Rau - the German president was on an official visit to Denmark and was paying a special visit to the Soeren Kierkegaard Research Center which is situated exactly opposite our building.

Eric Raymond visit - again. Peter Toft from Skåne Sjælland Linux User Group (SSLUG) has authored a small article - Eric Raymond i Danmark (II) - hårdt og sjovt - covering the visit of Linux guru Eric Raymond to Danmark last month. My law firm hosted a dinner for Eric and some special invitees. Great evening!

Reboot 5.0. Thomas Madsen-Mygdal and friends are once again working hard to give everybody that has a genuine interest in the Danish Internet scene an event to celebrate, discuss, fight, have fun - and get drunk. Reboot 5.0 takes place June 4 at Basecamp. Support and participate: Sign up!

April 11: LEGO day. By some strange coincidence I had two unique opportunities the same day to get my unsatisfied need to play with Lego bricks fulfilled big time! In the morning I flew to Billund - the corporate headquarters of the LEGO group - to hold a workshop on the use of digital signatures in large corporations and its legal aspects. After the workshop, Henrik Gert Jacobsen - a corporate lawyer at the legal department of the LEGO group and my liason at LEGO - took me to the LEGOs employees shop where I bought a lot of good LEGO stuff for my son Vilhelm. Henrik told me that at LEGO, all meeting rooms are equipped with large bowls of LEGO bricks and that visitors are encouraged to play with them during the meeting. Besides contributing to a less formal and more relaxed atmosphere, the bricks actually helps people to think clearer. More on this below the photo.

Later, the same day I attended a meeting at the Symbion Goodwill Ambassador Network in Copenhagen. The theme for the evening was LEGO SERIOUS PLAY. Symbion hosts and in provides financing for a slate of innovative Danish startup companies. LEGO SERIOUS PLAY is an innovative process that uses LEGO bricks and play as a means to enhance business performance. Based on research that shows that the learning that happens during "play" produces a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the world and its possibilities, LEGO SERIOUS PLAY is a quick, practical and effective process that can work for everyone within the enterprise. Participants come away with skills to express themselves more effectively, to engage their imaginations more readily, and to approach their work with increased confidence, commitment and insight.
